During this Christmas season when we celebrate the birth of the Baby Jesus, here is a collection of Bible verses to help us remember exactly who it was that entered the world that night in Bethlehem (from The Message):
I AM the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me . . . and I lay down my life for the sheep. — John 10:14-15
I AM the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. — John 8:12
I AM the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry. — John 6:35
I AM the true vine . . . No branch
can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you
bear fruit unless you remain in me. — John 15:1, 4I AM the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. — John 14:6
I AM the resurrection and the
life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever
lives and believes in me will never die. — John 11:25-26I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. — Revelation 22:13
Thank you, Jesus, for who you are.
I know you were focusing on Jesus’ declarations about himself, but I also like what Jophn had to say about who Jesus is in John 1:1-4. gdr
