It’s been a while since I’ve written here… partly because I’m not sure if anyone is still listening, and partly because I wasn’t sure I had anything to say. I was reminded of a verse at church this weekend, though, that I felt I had to share:
But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” (Exodus 14:13-14, New Living Translation)
I needed to hear that. Maybe you do, too. It sounds so passive: "just stand still and watch." Our human tendency, I think, is to push and fight and claw to get ourselves out of an unfavorable situation. Sometimes, though, we just need to relax and stay calm and watch the Lord do His work. He will fight for us. That sounds so comforting, because I know I don’t have what it takes to fight for myself.
"Don’t be afraid… just stand still… just stay calm."
If this verse speaks to you right now, I encourage you to check out a song by Donnie McClurkin called "Stand." May God come to your rescue soon.

JESUS DOES NOT NEED OUR HELP, HE ALREADY KNOWS OUR NEEDS. YES WE SHOULD ASK FOR IF NOT IT WILL NOT HAPPEN, SEEK AND IT SHOULD BE FOUND, BUT PUT ALL YOUR TRUST IN GOD, PUT HIM FIRST. AMEN
